My human mummy and I were hosting a lovely lady surfer on Couchsurfing dot com She wanted to go to a local cafe. So we chose Cocoa Bean in Leeming Road because we are a little acquainted with the owner, Kushan, and have not eaten or had a drink here before. With a separate section to order if taking out, and a section for table service, it doesn’t feel overwhelming. The chia latte was a pleasing temperature to a teddy bear, not scalding hot that it as to be waited on before safe to drink. Mummy ordered the avocado, smoked salmon, and poached eggs with sour dough. Lightly toasted and buttered, the sourdough was pleasant on its own, let alone with the perfectly poached eggs and reasonable smoked salmon. The smashed avocado was a touch disappointing as parts of it were a touch hard in comparison to the softer bits. Possibley the result of more than one avocado being used to make up enough of a portion if there were overly hard, bruised of stringy bits get rid of. But the standard of avocados has plummeted over the decades. Our new friend had the Shashuska under my recommendation; I am a teddy bear that loves Shashuska, and I wanted a taste of it here! The expected rich and zingy taste made up for the fact that it was served on a plate rather than in a cast iron skillet. Kushan explained that it is so customers don’t get burned. Those skillets can be hot buggers! Our Korean guest adored it soooo much! She had not had anything like it before. So Mummy made her some next morning for breakfast, and she loved it just as much! She has already sent links to her husband to make some when she returns home. But the fact that she also enjoyed Mummy’s soooo much can't downplay the Shashuska in the cafe. Mummy tasted some too and agreed it was yummy! We (me, Mummy, and our guest) felt comfortable sitting for quite a while after we finished eating, without feeling like we were being rushed out. The friendly staff don't disturb you but are ready at paw if needed. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat indoors. The cafe is very popular with a good number of regulars, who seem to be there nearly every day!

I had the chicken curry and fancied hash browns with it because I laugh in the face of traditional food combinations. Very tasty. Friendly staff. Their salad bar is amazing. Magnificent.

Cacao is a high end restaurant with quality ingredients, the atmosphere is outstanding with a reserved relaxing feeling. The food is always freshly made with amazing stunning cakes on display. The freak-shake with a rotating flavour every once in a while is greatly recommended using fresh ice cream being used where lower end places use just milk which does not compare to it. It has a nice sweet flavour which is not overpowering but is made clear it is there. The m and ms flavour is very nice being fresh where I find others have a more stale texture. With it being the crispy type it is nice and a contrast to the just smooth milkshake. I am impressed with the lolly on top of it making it a great value for money and it is such a high quality not just a cheap one. I find the plate of which it comes on to be different to usual shakes I have had and it also has toppings making it have a nice colour way of it. Cacao is always great with amazing service the workers bring very helpful and kind. Service was great easily a 5/5 The food was a 5/5

I went for a morning stroll and decided to try Cacao Bean Cafe and Restaurant for some breakfast. The menu was so varied and whilst I wanted to try it all, the smoked salmon, scrambled eggs on sourdough toast with a delicious hashbrown was decided upon to be the perfect combination. The cappuccino was delicious too! I'll definitely be back. Friendly service and I am excited to see the results of the expansion to next door!
